Our Elementary School ELA (English Language Arts) 1-on-1 tutoring provides personalized support tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style. Designed for students in grades 1–5, this tutoring focuses on building foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Sessions target key areas such as phonics, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and early writing skills.

Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or being challenged beyond the classroom curriculum, our tutors use engaging, age-appropriate materials and strategies to boost confidence, reinforce classroom learning, and foster a lifelong love of reading and writing. Middle School ELA 1-on-1 tutoring offers personalized academic support to help students in grades 6–8 strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills. These sessions are designed to reinforce classroom learning while addressing individual needs in areas such as reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar and mechanics, essay writing, vocabulary development, and critical thinking.

High School ELA 1-on-1 tutoring offers individualized support for students in grades 9–12, focusing on advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills essential for academic success and college readiness. Tutors work closely with students to strengthen their ability to read and interpret complex literature, craft well-organized and insightful essays, develop strong thesis statements, improve grammar and style, and communicate ideas clearly and effectively.

Whether students need help with literary analysis, research papers, timed writing, SAT/ACT prep, or mastering rhetorical and persuasive writing techniques, tutoring sessions are tailored to meet their unique goals and coursework. Tutors also guide students in developing critical thinking, revision strategies, and confidence in their written and verbal expression. Our tutoring aims to support academic achievement while preparing students for the demands of college-level English and beyond.

Our one-on-one high school tutoring program in Science and Math is designed to provide personalized, focused support tailored to each student’s unique learning needs. Whether they're struggling to grasp foundational concepts or aiming to excel in advanced topics, our expert tutors adapt their teaching methods to match the student’s pace and style of learning. With direct, uninterrupted attention, students gain confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and improve academic performance in a supportive environment.

Sessions are flexible and accessible, allowing students to receive high-quality instruction from the comfort of their home. Our tutors cover a wide range of subjects, including Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre- Calculus, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. By reinforcing classroom learning and addressing individual challenges in real time, we help students build a strong academic foundation that prepares them for exams, higher education, and future success in STEM fields.

Includes help brainstorming and editing up 8 different high school admissions essays. MJA Tutoring will not write any essays for you, however, we will guide your student on what high schools are looking for in the essay prompts they ask and how to fit your student's life experiences and ambitions to address each prompt as best as possible. 

On top of essay development, MJA Tutoring will offer 1-1 support to answer application questions, determine their list of schools to apply to, and help fill out admissions forms such as the activity list. 

Included in this package is our group HSPT prep course and 6 additional HSPT specific 1-1 sessions to work on areas that the student needs support with. If the student needs additional support, sessions can be scheduled with the reduced rate of $40.00 per session.

We recommend that students meet once a week at least until applications are submitted. 

This package will be billed monthly at $300.00. We recommend starting the package in August to get the most amount of time for editing, however, it does not matter when you join and we will bring you up to speed. 

Our goal is to make the high school application process as smooth as possible with your student prepared to submit their application with ample time before the deadline. We know this process can be stressful and we are here to relieve you of that stress and answer any questions you might have.
